“Comfort” from the Feeling Collection is a dusty mauve-rose gel in a 15 ml bottle. The pink is restrained, with a soft powdery undertone, so extensions come out coloured but never loud.

Extensions on top and bottom forms up to medium length, strengthening overlays, corner repairs, a short square that needs correcting: one gel handles the lot. Smart Gel is liquid and has its own brush in the bottle. It spreads evenly, is easy to control and gives a strong, long-lasting coating.

  1. Buff the nail plate with a 180-grit file or a 100-grit buffer.
  2. Remove the dust with a cleanser, especially under the cuticle and along the sidewalls.
  3. Apply dehydrator and wait 30 seconds for it to draw out moisture.
  4. Work a primer layer of Rubber base into the nail with rubbing strokes.
  5. Add a little more base to create a smooth surface.
  6. Cure the base for 30 seconds.
  7. Remove the sticky (inhibition) layer from the base, especially under the cuticle.
  8. Apply Smart Gel as the architectural layer.
  9. Cure for 30 seconds at a time.
  10. At the end, put both hands back in the lamp for 1 more minute.
  11. Remove the sticky layer from Smart Gel.
  12. File the surface if you want to.
  13. Always file the free edge to give the gel its thickness.
  14. Apply a top coat as the final layer.
  15. Cure the top coat for 1–2 minutes.
  16. With a carbide corn bit, file away the natural nail from underneath in the free edge zone.
  17. Gently buff the free edge so you do not damage the coating surface.
  18. Wipe off the dust with a damp wipe.
  19. Apply cuticle and hand care products.
